Wine breathing is preferred in some of the wines and in some breathe is not preferred. It is said that the exposure of the wines in air during aeration often relaxes the flavor and makes it taste better. But the older wines have the tendency to fade out on aeration. That is the reason why wines are mostly sold in glass bottles with tight corks or caps. Some wines are tightly packed into boxes. These wines can be accessed via opening it from the side of the box and hence they accept a degree of freshness for a month or two even after opening it.
